Last night, Deal or No Deal Live picked up a Royal Television Society award beating Antiques Road Trip and Operation Hospital Food With James Martin to the title of Daytime Programme of the year.

Reacting to the win, The Banker (@OfficialBanker) tweeted:

“We’ve just won the Royal Television Society Award for best daytime programme for the live shows! Congrats and thanks to all!

So proud & grateful to the whole team. It’s a tough show to make live when you’ve no script, no idea what’ll happen or how long it’ll take!”

Deal or No Deal went Live for the first time ever at the end of last year, stripped across two weeks and 12 nail biting shows!

There were contrasting wins ranging between 1p and £75K. Past contestants were joined by Celebrity guests, Tom & Dougie from McFly and Harry Potter star, Oliver Phelps as box openers.

Big Winners on Deal or No Deal Bingo!

March 6th, 2012

We had two winners on Deal or No Deal Bingo in the last month!  ‘LOGANSMAMMAR’  got a full house on the 10:30pm bingo linx game and won £7,000. “I won it the same time last year too! I just can’t believe it! My daughter is moving and needs loads of new stuff, so now she will get it!

‘helmac241’ was a winner in DOND Room, “All of a sudden the card was filling up one after another. Then there was one to go. My partner was lying on the floor with his hands over his eyes asking for the last number we wanted. All of a sudden we heard the number and we both looked. Our name came up that we had won the full house. He was shouting and screaming. Then we had the boxes. He wanted to click deal I said no take the chance say no deal. I said it don’t matter what’s in there after wining the full house. Neither of us expected the £910 to be in there. We were just happy with the full house. When we saw the £910 we couldn’t believe it. I just sat in shock and my partner was running around the house screaming again.

We will spend the money on a few different things. One thing will be a new laptop and as you can see from the picture we have two children, so I am sure they will get something too.

Thank you so much the win is very very much appreciated.”

Fanatical Fan: Lyn

February 16th, 2012

Lyn

We hooked up with one of our most fanatical fans to ask her what it is like to be a Deal or No Deal pilgrim.

How many times have you sat in the audience?

It is hard to say exactly as when I first came I did not imagine I would still be coming but I must have seen between 1650- 1700 shows. I am there most days, all 4 shows per day.

What first attracted you to be a “Pilgrim”?

I saw the advert in the paper when the show first started, and it is not too far to travel so thought I would see what it was all about.

What makes you keep coming back?

The show is very addictive and the atmosphere is brilliant.

What is the best thing about being in the audience?

The best thing about being in the audience is that you get to see first hand what goes on and seeing people win life changing money. I have been lucky enough to be in the audience for all the £250,000, winners. well done to all of them.

How would you describe the atmosphere in the Dream Factory?

Amazing, there is a great buzz, all the contestants really do get on well together and want each other to win big. Also every one of the Deal team are friendly and helpful and have time for the pilgrims and make you feel part of the show.

Would you recommend being an audience member?

Definitely when you have been once you will be booking again.

well done to all the team who make our visits most enjoyable and welcoming and for making the show a brilliant success

An update of Mark’s Fairytale of New York

February 3rd, 2012

When Mark took the Walk of Wealth during Deal or No Deal Panto week, he couldn’t have dreamt of the effect it would have on his life.

Mark had brought a photo of his late mother in New York. He wanted to fly out there to find the exact spot. Mark played a brave game, dealing at £35,000. Watch his exclusive interview here.

As part of the deal, The Banker promised to tell Mark where the photo of his mother was taken. As promised at the end of the game, the address was brought out but Mark wasn’t expecting a holiday to New York as part of the deal.

Mark has since been in touch, to tell us that he managed to find the same spot and sent us the photo to prove it! Mark’s good news didn’t stop there. He also wanted to share the arrival of baby George, weighing in at an eye watering 9lbs 7.

A big congratulations to Mark on his £35,000 win and touching story once again.

A costly year for The Banker so far…

January 24th, 2012

A hat trick of mega-money wins has left The Banker’s wallet feeling lighter in 2012.

Estate agent, James left with £65k in possibly one of the luckiest games of Deal or No Deal ever. You can read about the show here and watch his interview here.

That win must have sparked something in the Dream Factory because soon after Paul left with a massive £70k. The Banker had the last laugh however. Paul could’ve been our first Male Quarter Millionaire. You can read Paul’s touching story here and watch his Interview here.

Belinda stepped up a gear winning the most of the three. Confirming bad things do happen in threes (well if you’re The Banker anyway) read about her massive win here.

We have had 18 red wins and just 2 blue wins up until 23rd January totalling a whopping £387k! It’s a bad time to be The Banker and it could get a whole lot worse.

DEAL PANTO COMING THIS CHRISTMAS – OH NO IT ISN’T, OH YES IT IS!

December 13th, 2011

The world of pantomime and fairytales descends on the Dream Factory this December as Noel the Genie oversees proceedings in the hope of granting some Christmas wishes on Deal or No Deal: Deal Panto from Monday 19th December on Channel 4.

This year the Dream Factory becomes a magical, festive world as the contestants transform into some of the most memorable pantomime characters ever. And no Panto is complete without a dastardly villain, who of course will be played by none other than the evil Banker (boo, hiss)!

As always there will be a twist to the game and this Christmas contestants in live play at five box will have the opportunity to rub the Genie’s lamp and choose a wish which could see them continue one box at a time or even walk away with a holiday. However, the wrong choice could let The Banker have a look inside their box or even worse they could end up leaving with a pair of his underpants!

It has been an exciting year for Deal or No Deal, going live for the first time ever, plus two new quarter-millionaires have been crowned. Will The Banker be getting into the Christmas spirit or will he turn Scrooge and add even more members to his infamous 1p club?
