The TV phenomenon which is Deal or No Deal is fast approaching its sixth birthday and today was the 1700th game!
Noel Edmonds and The Banker have remained in the Dream Factory all this time but have seen thousands of contestants come and go over the years. Here are some quick stats for you:

Deal or No Deal has made the final shortlist in this year’s TV Choice awards under the ‘Best Gameshow’ category.
A huge thank you to everyone who has voted so far, but we need you all to vote again! Show your love for the show by putting a cross next to Deal or No Deal on the online form. Don’t forget to encourage everybody you know to do the same. The second round of voting will remain open until midnight on Friday 8th July. Deal or No Deal had picked up the TV Quick award for Best Gameshow in 2006 and 2009 so Noel is looking to make it a hat trick of victories for the Banker’s trophy cabinet.

We receive a large volume of emails and comments on Facebook and Twitter daily asking how you apply for the show. So we would like to remind everyone that we are NOT currently looking for contestants for Deal or No Deal.
Many thanks to everyone who applied during the last contestant application window, if you have any questions regarding your application please refer to our FAQs which will help with the most common problems.
If you missed the chance to apply then subscribe to our official Newsletter so you’ll be the first to hear about future opportunities.
When the applications are open you will need to:
Fill in an application form online which will be clearly signposted on this website.
If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to an audition and awarded a bronze ticket.
The audition is in two stages. If you are selected to go through to the second stage you will be given a silver ticket and be interviewed on camera by a member of the team.
These tapes will then be viewed in a casting session where the producers will choose the final contestants. If you have a place on the show you will be given a golden ticket and contacted by one of our researchers.

The Banker is just a big kid at heart and for his birthday party this year he’s playing Cowboys and Indians, complete with fancy dress and a few dastardly twists thrown into the mix. So we decided to put a few questions to Old Money Bags himself as we approach The Banker’s Birthday week:
Would you say you’re more of a Cowboy or an Indian at heart?
If I had a heart I’d tell you. As it is, next question.
As ever Noel will oversee proceedings, spending half the week as a sheriff and the other as chief. Which Noel did you prefer?
They were both equally disagreeable and as ever, badly dressed.
The players will get a chance to test their skill or put faith in lady luck for an extra special gift if they are still in live play at five box. Could you tell us a little bit more about the twists we can expect this year?
Yes I could. I could tell you. I think you mean “would”. Next time ask me if I would tell you. The answer will be no.
Friday the 13th is thrown into the mix this week, is that normally a luck day for you?
I got married on Friday the 13th. So, no.
Could you give us some more information about the fancy dress you have picked for this year?
You seem fascinated by my capabilities. Why not assume I could do anything and instead ask me if I choose to? The answer will be no.
What presents are you hoping for?
1p winners galore.
Has Noel ever brought you a birthday gift?
Yes, this year and every year he gives me the thrill of watching a television legend effortlessly making amazing television. It’s a gift he gives me every day… I’m joking of course. No.
How many birthday cards do you normally receive?
Four. One from my mother, one from my butler, one from my dogs and one from me. I make my own.
How many candles will be on your cake this year?
22, naturally.
Will you be sharing any Birthday fun with your thousands of followers on Twitter?
Oh, I have something in store for them Oh yes.. .Mwahahahaha!!
What is your highlight of the year so far?

There will be a week of birthday celebrations 9th – 15th May from 4pm, Channel 4
Join in the celebrations at the Dream Factory as The Banker throws a week-long party to celebrate his birthday starting on Monday 9th May Channel 4, at 4pm.
The Banker is just a big kid at heart and for his party this year he’s playing Cowboys and Indians, complete with fancy dress and a few dastardly twists thrown into the mix.
Split into two halves, the ‘Wild West Wing’ will dress up as Cowboys and the East Wing get to be Indians. As ever, Noel will oversee proceedings in style, as he spends half the week as sheriff and the other half as chief!
All week, to commemorate his big day, the birthday boy will be giving players the chance to test their skill or put their faith in lady luck for an extra special gift if still in live play at five box.
This big-hearted offer means that players can win a fabulous holiday and even have the chance to receive an offer from The Banker after every box they open. Of course though, The Banker has an evil plan, and if players fail, he will gain the upper hand by having a peek inside their box.
With unlucky Friday 13th thrown into the mix this week, will the players be down on their luck at the Dream Factory and give The Banker an extra reason to celebrate?

Over 30,000 people now follow The Banker (@OfficialBanker) on Twitter, do you? If not, you’re missing out! As a goodwill gesture The Banker tweeted:
“Ok chaps. More photos coming. Today, I will take snaps of Noel in any pose you might choose. I’ll select 5 to do. Hashtag them #noelposes”
There were thousands of requests, even one from Deal or No Deal (@dealornodeal)! But only 4 made the cut, our personal favourite was Noel playing out a scene from Pulp Fiction (pictured to the left).

To celebrate this most romantic time of the year, The Dream Factory has been transformed into The Dream Castle! ‘King’ Noel like always hosts the medieval themed shows for Deal or No Deal.
Have you joined Noel and his 22 ‘Knights of the Pound Table’ yet? There have been tears, laughter and nail-biting games and we’re only half way through the week!
The twist for this love-filled week sees the player select a fellow contestant to received ‘The Shield of Destiny’ which has added an exciting twist to the game-play. Although no romantic get-a-ways have been won, that could all change today.
The Banker hasn’t been swept away by the romantic atmosphere so far and he is still hell-bent on adding more members to his infamous 1p Club!
Already he has brushed off Jester Phoenix, HMS Charlotte and despite a brave display from Sir Shaun there has yet to be a Banker spanking. Poor Vicki joined the 1p club on Thursday, read the story here >>>
There’s still plenty of action to come from the ‘Knights of the Pound Table’ with more battles against the penny-pinching Banker to come, don’t miss it!

LOVE WEEK AIRS FROM 14TH – 20TH FEBRUARY ON CHANNEL 4
To celebrate the most romantic time of the year, The Dream Factory will be transformed into The Dream Castle as Noel Edmonds hosts a week of medieval themed shows for Deal or No Deal: Love Week on Channel 4.
From the 14th February join Noel and his 22 ‘Knights of the Pound Table’ for tears, laughter and nail-biting games as players attempt to beat The Banker and walk away thousands of pounds richer.
For this love-filled week the player will also get to select a fellow contestant to receive ‘The Shield of Destiny’ which will add an exciting twist to the game-play as well as an opportunity to win a fabulous romantic getaway.
Will the miserly banker be swept away by the romantic atmosphere or will he be adding even more members to his infamous 1p club?
Forget the flowers, just pop the champagne, break into the Valentine’s Day chocolates and join us at the The Dream Castle as the ‘Knights of the Pound Table’ do battle with the penny-pinching Banker in an attempt to win that coveted £250,000!

Deal or No Deal has a fresh look for 2011, what changes have you spotted? Surely you’ve already been dazzled by our new title sequence but have you spotted the new-look paddles? How about the faint question marks floating in the money board or even the shiny new logo? NO, then look a little closer next time 
You can also enjoy more Deal or No Deal magic this year. We have expanded to an hour long format, which means more laughter, more tears and even more nail-biting moments than ever before!
We’ve moved to a brand-new weekday time of 3.55pm Channel 4 so don’t miss us!
Will 2011 be the year we see our third quarter-millionaire? Or will the dastardly Banker (OfficialBanker) be adding even more members to the infamous 1p club?
